Good people/culture with some disorganization

Pros: - Management is very empathetic and concerned about your well-being - Everyone seems to be friendly and very open to new ideas - AI-first approach is refreshing as some companies shy away from technology they do not understand - Teams have very structured Scrum rituals and processes Cons: - Documentation of products and processes is very lacking, leading to confusion or loss of productivity - Some of the software products feel cobbled together at times - IT and Security does seem to be difficult to contact or get responses from - Budgets do seem to be very limited for new services or…

Work here if you love bullies

Pros: Work from home for now Cons: Overlooking people. Zero transperancy, school yard behaviour, bullying rather than development and management that only pass the buck.

Worst Place That I've Ever Worked

Pros: Ample budget to travel for sales which is good since it's an outbound sales team. The sales leader is experienced and he cares about the team. The role is selling cloud solutions to dentists who have on-premise solutions. It's early days but there is an appetite for the dentists to move to the cloud. There is a Presidents Club. Cons: The GM/President hasn't run a saas business (came from another division) and this lack of experience trickles down throughout the entire Commercial team. Unreasonable targets aren't hit because everything from Product to Onboarding has issues. The product…

Fast paced, but good work/life balance

Pros: The company is in its early stage of commercializing a new cloud product in Canada. There are a lot of lessons learned and the company is going through some changes because of it. Cons: Expectations and team communication could have been improved. Better onboarding plans for the team.

Good for the remote work & pay but full of slackers and no culture

Pros: - Remote work - In general people are nice, some managers actually care about you - Some really talented colleagues that want to make a difference - Pay is decent Cons: - Completely dysfunctional company with so many slackers and people who are just there to work remotely and do nothing all day - They have some the worst policies on paternity and maternity leave I have ever seen in my career, and they don't include all the details in the contract so, beware! - Leadership is non-existent. There's barely any communication at all and no incentives to share what's happening across depts -…

Has potential

Pros: -Co-workers were generally nice and easy to work with -Hybrid schedule was great -Decent benefits and work life balance Cons: -Superiority complex between Henry Schein One and it's parent company Henry Schein made progression very limited and caused a lot of drama. Parent company Henry Schein prioritized giving praises to itself over dealing with real issues -A common theme I saw was hiring managers not being thoughtful about hiring for right fit, which led to a lot of turnover. Waste of time for everyone involved -Culture felt stale

NLH team made it hard to leave, but job was awful

Pros: the NLH team..they were the only part of the job that made the leaving hard. Cons: Where do I begin? everything about this job was awful. I regret working there because the 6 months I was there set me back financially, mentally and emotionally. The push for CSATs, the points for being tardy, the way they want us to just take verbal abuse from customers is mental. I referred a friend right after I had started and I actually apologized to them monthly for telling them to come here (they ended up leaving as well before they even had a job planned. That should tell you how bad this place…

Henry Schein One consistently overpromises and underdelivers.

Pros: -Remote work -Decent health benefits -Coworkers are generally pleasant Cons: 1) Compensation: Pay is far below what is expected for the job you are actually doing, as opposed to what was sold to you in the job interview. Pay raises do not keep up with the cost of living. You can be hired at one position and given the responsibilities of multiple other positions later on with no matching pay increase. You can be given "increased" responsibilities without being given an actual promotion, and that is considered to be a stepping stone for an actual promotion. None of this is advertised in…

Dysfunctional culture driven by politics, not performance

Pros: Some great and very talented people in the business. WFH flexibility. Cons: Currently it is an incredibly frustrating and misaligned environment to work in. What was once a good place to work has spiralled significantly. Performance takes a back seat to internal politics. Progress depends far more on who you’re aligned with than what you actually deliver. If you’re expecting clarity, fairness, or a merit based culture, you won’t find it here. Leadership accountability is a real issue. Poor decisions and underperformance at senior levels are often overlooked, while expectations for…

Nice colleagues but poor management and unrealistic targets

Pros: The people you work with are nice and well-intentioned. Cons: Oof, Where to begin. The finance team is borderline inept, from the top down. The company sets targets that are absolutely unattainable and then acts surprised when they don’t hit those targets. Pay was well below market standard as well. Advice to management: You’ve already hired a new CFO, which was necessary. Now time to start paying your the way you should.

Supportive team but sudden firing raises concerns

Pros: Offer letter and job offer call with my boss made HS1 feel like a career dream. Promotion/raise opportunity, work life balance, remote. Team members who stick around are amazing and supportive My boss told me working purely remotely was perfect as long as I can in when she was in town. Cons: I was there 6 months and came in on a Monday morning to a call with my boss and HR popped in to tell me I was fired. No warning, no performance issues ever raised. I learned later from teammates that I was fired because I was showing up a more senior person in the same role. And she had the ears of…

Toxic management

Pros: Remote work and WFH setup provided. Teammates are kind and try their best despite management. Cons: Terrible management who is only concerned with numbers. A coworker was a block away from a shooting and our manager showed 0 concern for his safety. Advice to management: Stop assuming the worst of your workers and actually start supporting them. Get rid of the points system.

Hardworking teams face pressure and disconnect from customers

Pros: There are some extremely hardworking and committed people within the company, particularly those who have been there a long time and genuinely care about the customers they support. Despite significant pressure on resources, there were also pockets of excellence where stretched teams continued to deliver to a very high standard. Cons: Working at the company, there was a sense that it had once been a genuinely customer-centric organisation. More recently, however, many employees appeared to be operating under significant pressure to deliver against targets that often felt poorly…

Proceed with caution

Pros: Growing company with a vision to help dental practices focus on healthcare by having a good system take care of the operations. Cons: Growing too quickly and not taking the time to properly build the foundations that will allow sustained growth. Talk a good game about work/life balance, but when push comes to shove, people end up having to work nights, weekends, and PTO to bail out problems that could have been prevented. Advice to management: Listen to your engineering team when they warn you of design flaws or scalability risks, don't just push and push because you'll push yourself…

Flexible work environment overshadowed by toxic culture

Pros: Flexible Work Environment and decent benefits Cons: Cult like environment, Politics rule this place, lots of brownnosing, no training, no support, no communication, Onboarding is a joke. Incredibly stressful and work life balance is non existent. You will spend every waking hour in front of your laptop trying to unravel the constant problems that never get solved. People who run the place are completely out of touch with reality and more interested in socializing in meetings and dinners than actually managing their teams and solving problems. Henry Schein One - worth considering!

Pros: I love Henry Schein One. Not perfect, but neither am I. A great company, filled with great people, impacting human health. Comp and benefits are competitive, and the overall work environment, including hybrid work, allows for flexibility for employees. The company has come a long way since I joined, and I think anyone seeking employment should seriously consider Henry Schein One. Cons: I believe we are still working through ways to improve overall communication and transparency within the organization, and that silos are still being removed, but the progress has been remarkable. Advice…

Poor Leadership, Low Morale, and a Culture That Ignores Employees

Pros: The only meaningful perk I can think of is the paid day off for your birthday. Cons: From my experience, the overwhelmingly positive reviews do not reflect the reality I saw inside the company. It often felt like there was more focus on maintaining the company's public image than addressing employees' actual concerns. Employee morale was very low. There were constant discussions about the work environment, management behavior toward employees, compensation, and the lack of support. Many employees felt their feedback was ignored, and management rarely acted on concerns raised by the…

Great Company for Self-Starters

Pros: -Great benefits. Between FlexPTO and generous medical plans, we're all good in this area. -Great place to try things and innovate -Financially sound and backed by strong investors -People focused culture Cons: -Growth can be slow in small departments -Speed of change can be intense -Redundant roles do not last long like they do at other companies. Advice to management: Keep listening to your greatest asset, your people. They are aggressively passionate about serving their customers well and will never steer you wrong. However, for those not on the front lines with customers, you need…

Supportive team and meaningful work

Pros: I love working at Henry Schein One - it has been a fantastic place to start my career. People at Henry Schein One live our values and work hard. It is obvious in how leadership and colleagues work together. The culture is collaborative and very supportive. Most of our org has the flexibility to work remote depending on role; my role is typically in-office, but I have the ability to be flexible when I need to be. Cons: We are a part of a larger parent company, which means we're not always as agile as I'd like, though it comes with the tradeoff of added stability and resources.

Fast-paced environment with strong rewards for performance

Pros: This company is moving fast and you need to be able to move fast to excel here. If you enjoy working strategically with talented people, this could be a good place for you. Output, metrics, and progress are prioritized and rewarded. Cons: There isn't a ton of touchy-feely praise, but good work is compensated. Finance processes are very cumbersome and duplicative. Advice to management: Continue to advocate for and value your people. Sometimes you prioritize care for customers over care for employees.

Flexible hours but poor management and leadership

Pros: - flexible work hours/hybrid environment Cons: - management is horrible - new Head of HR started and she's the worst person I've ever met. Has no empathy, fires everyone she doesn't like and doesn't know what she is doing. - Head of company has no idea what she is doing. - Financially, not doing well. Hence firing and not replacing.
